The start of MagSafe?
MagSafe is a technology developed by Apple and first introduced on their MacBook lineup back in 2006. In order to prevent damage to both the laptop and the power adapter in case someone accidentally tripped over the power cord Apple came up with the ingenious solution to create a power connector that was held in place and aligned by the force of magnets and would detach immediately when there was a sudden pull on the cable.
With the release of iPhone 12 in September 2020, Apple reintroduced MagSafe technology for its iPhone lineup. The new MagSafe system for iPhone is made of a circular array of magnets on the back of the device around the battery, which allows convenient and efficient wireless charging since the charger is always attached in the right place.
Is MagSafe only for the latest iPhone models?
Happily not! Do you have an earlier iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei or any other device? No problem! Just attach a universal MagSafe sticker to the back of your phone or simply get yourself a MagSafe phone case and you too can enjoy all the benefits of MagSafe and make use of all the useful new accessories.
